| FREE Sea Surface Temperature Charts While this is OK for getting an quick overview of existing conditions there are inherent problems with this type of SST product. Lat and Lon are figured by counting pixels and as such it is positionaly inaccurate. It is a flat image representing a round earth. Temperature in this type of product is based on the colors of the pixels. This is inaccurate as well. 99% of the SST Products on the internet are done this way, We call them PRETTY PICTURES!
