Took a couple guys down to Beaufort for some Cobia. Fishing was very slow except for the sharks.
Here is the only fish we caught while fishing on the bottom with frozen squid.

This fish was 35lbs at 43" fork.

Nice fish Captain Rick. I love the taste of those things grilled or baked!


Reminds me of a story of my brother boating one in Murrells Inlet back in the '70's. He pulled the fish into the boat "green". After about 5 seconds of disbelief, the fish realized he was where he didn't want to be. He went ballistic. Rods and pieces of tackle box (and contents) flew everywhere, and one of those old metal coleman coolers had the lid torn off. With all of the beating he was taking and no place to go (14' jon boat) he abandoned the boat for a safer enviroment. Two wildlife officers pulled up to check on him being in the water. They were laughing their a$$es off. Said they had watched the whole thing through binoculars. "funniest thing they had ever seen"
