South Carolina Offshore Fishing - Is anybody catching any fish - Try using pirate plugs (from south chatam tackle, they are a sponsor, too) They prevent the bait from spinning and are simple to rig. I've had good luck with the blue white, pink, and green

Although i am an inshore guy, you picked the right site. Capt Dave the owner of this site is extremely knowledgeable of what is happening out there on the pond. Just kick back relax and tell us exactly what/how you have been fishing.

What kind of bait are you using? How fast are you trolling? Have you used or looked at the SUPERMAP yet?

They more info you tell us the more info everyone else can help you with.

Best of luck and welcome aboard!

Thanks for the reply. I have been going 30-45 miles offshore. I have been trolling ballyhoo naked and with skirts. Also using spoons. Have caught some barricuda and 1 small king. Would love to catch some dolphin. I have been a freshwater man all my life and started saltwater last year. Doing real will on inshore fish, just like freshwater, but offshore is a different story.

Try using pirate plugs (from south chatam tackle, they are a sponsor, too) They prevent the bait from spinning and are simple to rig. I've had good luck with the blue white, pink, and green white colors. Also I go by the solunar charts. The link doesn't work on this site, but if you go to www.fryingpantower.com the NC version, it works on that site.
