South Carolina Offshore Fishing - Hopefully! - Thanks. We hope to catch a few kings and hope to catch a mahi or two. We normally don't do much bottom fishing but with my fiance coming I think she would enjoy catching bottom fish too so we'll try our luck.

Went out to the jungle saturday for the first time.. Got there about 830 and by 930 had the first king in the boat and had two strikes before that with no hookup... The king we got in the boat was about 20#.. Hooked up on a green pirate plug with a ballyhoo Within an hour of catching the king the people with me were ready to go.. A calm day like that I really didnt want to leave.. So they wanted to bottom fish and we went and tried that and nothing... They were ready to go at 1230 so we headed for the house... Hated to go in on a beautiful day like that on lake Atlantic.... Hope its nice next week so I can go back out...

I hope to have another report by sunday night... Looking to head back out sat morning and sunday if the weather holds up for us... This time it will be an all dayer.... Looking to try and pick up some more Pirate Plugs from Bob by the weekend just to have some reserves....... Keeping a close eye on reefcast... Hope the weather holds out and I would love to see another day like saturday again..... Beautiful day on the water and I saw plenty of other boats at the jungle gaffing fish and pulling em in....

Thanks for the report. I'm hoping to head out one day this weekend to either the jungle or the Atlantic ledge. I hoping to find a spot with some mahi without having to go too far.

Mike -- I was out at the ledge last weekend. Saw a lot kings being caught but no mahi. Might try the BP or long bay rocks. Some nice kings around though at the 70ft hole and over at the shark hole.

Maybe we'll get lucky and pull up a grouper. We've yet to catch one on our boat but maybe this weekend is the time.
