I am now a dealer for silicone filled wire connector caps. It was sort of like the old razor ad "I liked it so well, I bought the company". Well, I didn't buy the company.... But after I had changed the connectors every year in the bilge areas.... and had to cut off a foot or two of "blackened" wire. I tried something different. Silicone filled wire caps. You crimp, solder, or put a wire nut on the connection, push it into the silicone filled cap, spread the wires to either side, close and snap the cap. The "Non-Melting Synthetic, Dielectric Silicone" sealant keeps the moisture out, and the voltage in. While they would probably do ok in a submersed enviroment, I think the best bet is to suspend them above any known water. The salt water dampness cannot cause further damage to my wires. I recently rewired my 8 bilge pumps with 22 of them! I have just ordered 1,000 units. I also have the solid copper crimps to go in them. If interested, email me. Tact2cat@aol.com. Approx 79 cents each plus S&H. Also have smaller version for trailer wires. (same price) _________________ Captain Tom Beckham
