Myself & 3 other club members headed out of Little River toward the tower...after working some larger patches of weeds, with nothing doing... stopped short of the tower to set up, within an hour, had my very first every mahi in the boat, about 10 lbs... not a trophey... but my first the same. 30 minutes or so later, had another at the boat... missed at the gaff & gone...
Worked around that tower some... dropped off a set of pliers to a fellow boater (another story within itself)... picked up a ok sized king.
Another mahi spit the hook, and then lost another... wire broke... my fault on this one.
All but 1 caught on skirted cigar on a downrigger.
Toward the end of the day... bottom fished and found some huge BSB... hurt to throw those back...
Learned some more... good time out with some good guys.
