Little River Inlet Saltwater Fishing Club

The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 on October 2nd at Coggeshalls. There will not be a guest speaker. This meeting is to socialize and finalize the "Rumble in the Jungle" and get help.

Patrick talked to Dave Perry and has confirmed the date of November 3rd for the "Shootout" with Voyager View Fishing Club. Keep that date open. I am sure that they will provide us with a wonderful time!
!

The Directors met last evening and went over the requirements for the upcoming Reverse Raffle and the Rumble in the Jungle. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!! A sign up sheet was provided at the last meeting and only a few signed up (Thank You to those that did!) Many slots need to be filled. Your Officers can not do it all. This is where we get the money to operate all year. PLEASE VOLUNTEER!!

Patrick opened the September meeting by welcoming all and stating we had 40+ members present and that was almost half the membership. It is great to see we are getting back into our winter attendance.

Check out the Fish Board for new entries. John Gore had a new entry with a 3.26 lb Black Sea Bass. Good job John!!

Fish of the Month for August was Spanish Mackerel. Only one fish was weighed in and that was by Patrick. HOWEVER HE DID NOT BRING THE WEIGH SLIP TO THE MEETING!! He found it in the car and presented it before everyone left and will be awarded the $100 prize. The $50 prize was left unclaimed and will go back into the pot!

The Fish of the Month for September are Sea Trout and Catfish. $100 each. All fish to be weighed in at Platts in Cherry Grove.

At the September meeting our Guest speaker was Captain Smiley. He went over his way of fishing light tackle for all of the inshore varieties of fish, From tackle to bait. He was good enough to stay after and answer many questions from the members. Thanks and Great Job Pat we appreciate it.

Ron McManus informed us that the Jim Caudel Reef is now the most visited reef in SC. He also gave us numbers for the latest group dropping of reef balls. They are posted at the bottom of this article along with all the other reef attractions.

John Gore, Patrick and Fred talked about the next Rumble in the Jungle. A new award has been added for "Single Engine Boat", $1000. This along with the "Boundary House Bounty" of $5000 will be paid for the largest fish caught by someone not listed as a Pro. Great incentive for our local anglers. (Unless the Pro has a single engine boat, which is not likely)

Three prospective new member were introduced to all. Their applications will be looked at by the Directors and voted upon at the next meeting.

The tickets for the Reverse Drawing are now available. It will be held on Wednesday the 10th of October. They are in high demand, so get yours quickly, they will not last long.
